As the official start to summer is approaching, people are reconnecting with nature in different ways; from heading to the beach, to hosting a barbecue, to painting one’s home with this season’s most popular color.
According to MattressNextDay, in an analysis of UK Google searches for paint colors, they found that nature-inspired hues have been the most sought-after this summer season. At the top of the list is Farrow & Ball’s Purbeck Stone, a clean and understated shade of gray inspired by the rock color found in the Isle of Purbeck in England. It’s described to have a calming effect, which, in a period of global upheaval, could explain why it has been experiencing a 1,292 percent surge in searches.
Another reason why Purbeck Stone has been so popular is that its tone is easy to pair. You can use it with white walls to make it classy…
Or pair it with natural furnishings to give it a more rustic look.
Coming in second place is Farrow & Ball’s Jitney, an earthy brown color that evokes feelings of being by the sea.
In third place is also another Farrow & Ball color, called Green Smoke. The company describes it as smoky green blue, and was popular in the late 19th century for its “irresistibly inviting deepness and weathered familiarity.”
Not to be outdone, in the fourth spot is Dulux’s Pressed Putty, whose soft shade of brown has given it a 161 percent increase in searches by homeowners.
Rounding out the top five Farrow & Ball’s Skimming Stone, a warm light grey that will make you feel as though you’re a child again skimming stones by the pond.
If you’re planning to repaint this summer, these five colors will have you covered.
